Peaceful Spirits

Mom Walking the Labyrinth

"To live in hearts we leave behind
is not to die."
       Thomas Campbell

It's been a while since I posted a story on my blog. Last year was quite challenging for many. In the last year I've started a new job, moved, been through therapy for back problems, and had my car stolen. The biggest challenge of all though was losing my best friend, my Mom, suddenly last October. And then losing her sister a few weeks later.

One of my Mom's favorite verses was "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under Heaven." And so here we are in a different season, walking our own labyrinths here on Earth, and calling upon the Spirit of Peace to live on in our hearts and minds.

May you be blessed with all the good Spirits, and walk on with love in your hearts. That's what my Mom would want for all of us. And I know she would want me to continue to write, so that is a promise I am keeping in her honor. For she was my biggest and most loyal supporter.

Not long after Mom passed on, a client came into my office. She told me she had lost her own mother just a few years ago, and that one day in the midst of her grief, she asked out loud "who's going to love me like you did?" And she heard the quick and gentle reply, "You will."

And so love lives on in each and every one of us, everlasting, unconditional, within us and all around us, encircling us. For now and forever. Bless us all.
