Happy Birthday Mom

Pathway to Fairyland
This past weekend my Mom's belongings were  moved from her home to mine, completing another chapter as our family copes with her passing suddenly last October. I am so grateful for the beautiful, loving relationship I shared with my Mom. Now, opening these boxes of memories is like a gift she gives me each day.

Bereavement is a process that is unique to each person. So I allow myself time to grieve and heal, and remember each day to take good care of myself. Taking care of ourselves benefits everyone! When we are feeling good, we can radiate our love much easier.

So in honor of my Mom's birthday, here is a special poem.

"Mother's Day Thoughts"

You filled my days with rainbow lights,
Fairytales and sweetdream nights,
A kiss to wipe away my tears,
Gingerbread to ease my fears.

You gave the gift of life to me
And then in love, you set me free.
I thank you for your tender love,
For deep warm hugs and being there.

I hope that when you think of me
Mother, wherever you might be,
A part of you
You'll always see.
